33-Year-Old Charged For Enticing Minors

Detectives say that Michael Christner had enticed a 15-year-old boy to engage in sexual acts with him.

A 33-year-old Sarasota man is facing multiple charges Monday after authorities said he picked up a 15-year-old boy and had sexual activity with him.

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrested Michael Thomas Christner, of 2325 Temple St., Sarasota, and charged him with:

  • one count of Using a Computer to Entice a Child to Engage in Sexual Activity;
  • one count of Traveling to Meet a Minor to Engage in Sexual Activity; and
  • 13 counts of the Transmission of Material Harmful to Minors.

The events occurred between Dec. 21 and Jan. 5, when Christner had reportedly met his victim through a social networking application and Christner  had texted various pornographic images including sadomasochistic scenes to the victim's cellphone, according to the affidavit.

Over the course of two weeks, the images were sent, and then Christner picked the teen up at the boy's neighborhood early this month after sneaking out of his home in the early hours, then was driven to Bradenton where the two engaged in sexual acts, according to the affidavit.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for Christner’s home and it was executed early Monday with the assistance of the Sarasota Police Department. Detectives recovered more than a dozen pictures of people engaged in sexual acts as well as nude photos of Christner that he sent to the teen victim, according to the sheriff's office.

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is also investigating the allegation that Christner drove the victim to Bradenton to engage in sexual activity, which could result in additional charges.

Yet another gay pederast outed. So much for the new normal of gays being good for society. Being gay is a sexual addiction, not unlike drug and alcohol addiction, that can be cured with the proper psychological help.

Pediphelia is a crime whether you are a homosexual or heterosexual. Also, homosexuality is a genetic makeup and does not require "proper psychological help". Homosexuality cannot be "cured". Perhaps you should educate yourself before blasting ignorance. Richard, the victim is my child....

Incorrect. Homosexuality has NOTHING to do with genetic makeup. It has everything to do with the sinful nature of man. The same God who spoke the universe into existence is more than capable of restoring someone with a willing and yielded heart.

I had to work with this person. And he always gave me a strange vibe. I am so sorry for what your family must be going through, anon. My thoughts are with you. Also, Homosexuality is not a choice. And even if it were - why would that matter? Keep your religion to yourself. And possibly, it is best to look within the walls of your church for the "gay pederast"s, Richard. This has nothing to do with homosexuality - and to both Rich and John - if you want to make this some nonsense about your strange beliefs - way to be egocentric fools. A crime was committed. If these accusations are proven true in a court of law - it is not a matter of homosexuality or heterosexuality - it is pedophilia. Plain and simple. You should think of the child instead of insulting homosexuals. If either of you are Christian, you should be VERY ashamed of yourselves.
