Patrols on seven different days during the month, including Labor Day holiday weekend, resulted in:
- 24 DUI arrests
- 197 citations for other traffic offenses
- 32 DUI arrests agency-wide.
This month’s saturation patrols are scheduled for September 7, 13, 14, 21, 27 and 28.
Wendy Rose, spokesperson for the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office said saturation patrols are conducted instead of DUI Checkpoints and include a number of patrol and traffic deputies working targeted zones to monitor driving activity. Rose said saturation patrols are mobile by design, so they take place in different parts of the county.
