Florida Highway Patrol said the bicyclist cut across Clark Road into the path of a car.

A bicyclist is being treated for minor injuries and is facing a traffic charge following a crash Sunday evening at Clark Road and Colonial Drive.

Florida Highway Patrol responded to the intersection at 5:07 p.m. where a 2006 Toyota Scion struck Susan Diane Christian, 50, of Sarasota who was riding a Trek mountain bike.

The bike traveled eastbound on Clark Road's north sidewalk and then decided to cut across traffic off the sidewalk, heading southbound across Clark Road toward the south sidewalk, according to Highway Patrol.
