UPDATE: Man Found On Sandbar in Big Pass was Business Owner

Authorities have identified the body of the man who was found on the sandbar in Big Pass Tuesday morning; he owned a Fort-Myers based construction company employed to make repairs on Bay Island Park.

UPDATE: The body found this morning on the sandbar in Big Pass has been identified as 54-year-old Cresente C. Bautista, the owner of CB Marine Construction Company, according to the Sarasota Police Department. 

Bautista's company is currently repairing a seawall at Bay Island Park in the area of Siesta Bridge west end. Bautista is originally born in the Philippines but lived in Fort Myers with this family.

 The SPD Bureau of Criminal Investigations is currently conducting the death investigation regarding Bautista, but, as of this time, has found no evidence of foul play. The investigation is still ongoing.

Authorities are investigating the death of a man whose body was found on the sandbar in Big Pass on Tuesday morning, according to the Sarasota Police Department.

The man is described as a black male believed to be in his 50’s to 60’s. The cause of death is unknown at this time.
