Indiana Teen Drowns In Siesta Key Pool

Investigators are looking into the cause of a Columbus, Indiana, teen drowning in a Siesta Key pool Friday morning.

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office responded to the Crystal Sands Condominiums at 3:25 a.m. when a resident found Garrett Mabrey, 17, at the bottom of the pool; he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff's office.

The sheriff's office says Garrett was last seen just before midnight by his family who was staying at Crystal Sands while on vacation.

Detectives suspect the teen’s death was accidental but an autopsy will be performed to confirm the cause of death.
