Apparent Siesta Key Stabbing Leads to Investigation

The victim told Sarasota deputies he was stabbed during a scuffle with three men along Siesta Public Beach on Saturday night.

Sarasota County deputies are seeking the public's help in an apparent random stabbing at Siesta Key Public Beach late Saturday, July 6.

Deputies say they arrived at Siesta Key Public Beach Access No. 10, at the 500 block of Ocean Boulevard, around 10:43 p.m. to find a man with a stabbing injury to his stomach.

The victim was airlifted to Blake Hospital, where it was learned his injuries were non-life threatening. 

The victim told deputies he was stabbed during a scuffle with three men along Siesta Public Beach. The attackers reportedly fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office launched a criminal investigation.
