North Trail BB&T Bank Robbed

Suspect was seen in a silver two-door car leaving the scene.

Sarasota Police are asking the public to help identify the suspect of a Thursday morning BB&T bank robbery on the North Trail.

The bank, 3201 N. Tamiami Trail, was robbed at 10:05 a.m. today, according to police, and implied to the teller he had a weapon, then left with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was seen driving what's believed to be a silver two-door Toyota Solara with a sun roof.

The suspect is described as a white male, 6 feet 1 inch tall, 170 pounds and believed to be in his 40s.

Police released surveillance images of the man from the bank robbery and he was also is seen leaving the Walmart Neighborhood Market near the bank as well in another piece of footage.
