Pedestrian Injured in Sarasota Crash
A pedestrian was injured when he was hit by a car on US 301 near the intersection of 30th Street in Sarasota on Saturday night, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.
The accident happened at about 8:30 p.m. Officers believe a male pedestrian was crossing the southbound lanes of US 301 when the driver of a car hit the breaks to avoid hitting the male, according to a report.
The car behind the car that hit the breaks, switched lanes and hit the male crossing the road, the report said.
The male was transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital with injuries, the report stated.
