A routine traffic stop resulted in finding stolen property from a Sarasota home, authorities report.

Florida Highway Patrol stopped a 26-year-old man 24-year-old woman in Escambia County and saw items inside the vehicle that seemed out of place, according to a Manatee County Sheriff's Office report.

"The stories given by the suspects regarding the property were non-believable," Manatee Sheriff's Office says. 

The property inside their vehicle came from a home burglary on the the 9100 block of 64th Ave. E in Sarasota that occurred sometime between June 26 and July 4, according to Manatee deputies.

In that burglary, the suspect or suspects broke a kitchen window to enter the home and steal property. It is not known how or to where the suspect or suspects fled. 

Florida Highway Patrol took the woman into custody on an outstanding warrant at the time of the traffic stop, and male has been detained pending Manatee County Sheriff's Office notification of charges.
