Sarasota Arson Fugitive Arrested

Andrew Honroth, 23, of Sarasota arrested for June 2011 Presidential Apartments fire.

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Marshal Service believe they have their man for a June 2011 arson at Presidential Apartments.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office obtained an arrest warrant for Christopher Andrew Honroth, 23 of 3232 Fruitville Road, for setting a fire in apartment 207 of the on the morning of June 14, 2011, the sheriff's office said. Honroth initially claimed it was a grease fire but investigators determined the couch was intentionally set ablaze, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies located Honroth this morning near 26th Street West and 53rd Avenue West in Bradenton at 9 a.m. today. He was transported to the Sarasota County Jail and booked on one count each of Arson and Criminal Mischief, the sheriff's office said.

Honroth and an unkown woman sleeping in the master bedroom walked away from the apartment unharmed, according to the probable cause affidavit.
