Sarasota DUI Patrol Dates and Results For June, July

See how many DUI arrests were made last month and when deputies will be saturating parts of the county this month to look for impaired drivers.

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office plans to conduct saturation patrols on July 13, 20 and 27 in an effort to remove dangerous, uninsured or impaired drivers from local roadways.

The patrols are different from DUI checkpoints, as they are mobile and take place in different areas of the county, sheriff's spokesperson Wendy Rose said. Several patrol and traffic deputies will work targeted zones as the same time.

Saturation patrols on five different days in June resulted in 22 DUI arrests and 187 citations for other traffic offenses, Rose said.

The sheriff's office has already held patrols on July 5 and 6 and will release the results of all of the month's patrols at the beginning of August.

A grant from the Florida Department of Transportation helps support the increased traffic safety activities, the sheriff's office said.
