Sarasota DUI Patrols Announced For August

Here are the dates for upcoming DUI patrols in Sarasota County.

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office will conduct DUI saturation patrols each Saturday in August, it announced Wednesday.

The dates are:

  • Saturday, Aug. 3
  • Saturday, Aug. 10
  • Saturday, Aug. 17
  • Saturday, Aug. 24
  • Saturday, Aug. 31
Saturation patrols are different from a “DUI checkpoint," as they include a number of patrol and traffic deputies working targeted zones at the same time to monitor driving activity, sheriff's office spokesperson Wendy Rose said.

"Because of their design, saturation patrols are mobile so they take place in different areas of the county," Rose said.
