Scooter Rider Suffers Serious Injuries From Crash

Florida Highway Patrol said the driver was not wearing a helmet on her scooter.

A 24-year-old Sarasota woman is being treated for serious injuries after she was ejected from her scooter after a crash.

Florida Highway Patrol responded to Camminare Drive at Quinto Drive at 3:05 p.m. Sunday where they found Patricia Roming of Sarasota seeking aide from her injuries.

Roming was riding a 2012 Tao scooter without a helmet headed north on Camminare Drive when she failed to negotiate the curve, ran off onto the shoulder and struck a curb, according to Highway Patrol.

The scooter than crashed into a tree, causing the scooter to rotate and overturn, according to Highway Patrol.
