Teens Terrorize Homeless By Chasing Them With Car

One of the teens also shot a homeless man with an air soft rifle, according to the sheriff's office.

Two 17-year-old Sarasota boys are facing aggravated assault and aggravated battery charges after deputies said they chased homeless men with their car and shot them with an air gun.

Sarasota County Sheriff's deputies responded to the 5900 block of Lockwood Ridge Road at 10 p.m. Friday to respond to a reported shooting.

It all started when Adam P. Hall, 17 of 3621 Parkridge Circle, and Steven Laporte, 17 of 3901 Bahia Vista St., drove to a parking lot beside a homeless camp and used their green Ford to chase Lawrence Hollow, 48, Eric Simonson, 47, and Scott Morrison, 51, according to the sheriff's office.

During the incident, Laporte had shot the victims with an air soft rifle, causing minor injuries from the air soft pellets, according to the sheriff's office.

Both Hall and Laporte were found nearby and were arrested and charged as adults, according to the sheriff's office.

Unbelievable Sarasota. Are we happy at what we are teaching are children. We must collaborate to stop this insanity. No one person has the answer. No one side is right. The sad part is that everyone is suffering, and this injustice is being taught to our younger generation. This issue will become cyclical if we do not make a stand now. We need to start making the news with the right stories about how Sarasota has stepped up with solutions to be a community for all people. The first step is to collaborate with solutions. No more fighting about who's problem it is ot it is not. People are not the problem, homelessness is the problem. We all have good ideas. Let's start putting them to good use.
