Garbage collection for customers of Waste Management will not be affected by the holiday. The landfill at 4000 Knights Trail Road in Nokomis will be open Monday, but the administrative office will be closed.
Sarasota County Area Transit (SCAT) including the Longboat Key Trolley, will not be operating on Labor Day.
Recreation centers will be closed Monday, with the exception of the following: Payne Park Tennis Center, open 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and Arlington Park Recreation Center, open noon to 5 p.m.
In Sarasota, weekly garbage and recycling collection will not be affected. The Sarasota City Commission will meet on Tuesday instead of Monday.
