Michelle Obama Coming to Sarasota

The First Lady will attend a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in Sarasota on Jan. 26.

UPDATE: Michelle Obama's fundraising appearance will be at the home of Caren Lobo, 3139 Bay Shore Road, Sarasota at 12:15 p.m. Thursday, according to President Barack Obama's campaign Web site.

The cost is $1,250 for a general and photo reception or $15,000 for host committee reception, photo and general reception for two.

Florida news outlets are reporting that First Lady Michelle Obama will stop in Sarasota on Jan. 26 for a Democratic National Committee fundraiser.

According to the Palm Beach Post, Obama will stop in Palm Beach for another fundraiser and also be in Tampa that day for an event:

"The first lady’s quick trip includes a morning stop in Tampa, where she will be joined by Bob Unanue, president of Goya Foods, a National Strategic Partner in the USDA’s Mi Plato — “My Plate” — program."

Patch is awaiting details from Organzing for America to share the location and time of the first lady's visit. Organzing for America is an interest group as an offshoot of the Democratic National Committee that aims to support President Barack Obama's policies and initiatives.
