SCAT Routes 7, 8 Detoured During October

Sarasota County Area Transit has to detour routes 7 and 8 due to an Orange Avenue drainage project.

Sarasota County Area Transit bus riders will face detours on SCAT Routes 7 and 8 in the Orange Avenue area starting today.

The detours are expected to last through the month because of the city's Orange Avenue drainage project.

SCAT bus stops on Orange Avenue will be closed between 17th and 21st streets. The closure will affect Route 7 (Newtown-Northeast Plaza) and Route 8 (Newtown-U.S. 301).
