West Coast Symphony Orchestra Building to be Renovated

City of Sarasota officials will meet with orchestra representatives to discuss a possible $500,000 renovation.

City officials are anticipating a major renovation to the West Coast Symphony Orchestra Building in Sarasota.

Sarasota City Commission members Paul Cargiulo and Susan Chapman called a special meeting to be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday to consider nearly $500,000 of improvements to the building, 709 North Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, which will include new floors, plumbing, LED lighting and landscaping. The company leases the building from the city.

On Wednesday, city staff will meet with the Florida West Coast Symphony Orchestra representatives to discuss the lease requirements that are needed to undertake the improvements.

The meeting will be held in the Commission Chambers at City Hall, 1565 First St., Sarasota.
