What's Closed for MLK Jr. Day

City and county offices will be closed. Trash and recycle are unaffected.

The City of Sarasota administration offices will be closed Monday, January 16 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The Newtown Estates Park will host a holiday breakfast from 7:30 a.m. until 11 a.m.

Weekly garbage and recycling pickup in the city will not be affected. Paid parking will not be enforced on Monday, including parking meters, pay stations and in the Palm Avenue Garage.

Sarasota County offices and libraries will be closed Monday, but SCAT buses will run a normal schedule.

Trash and recycling pickup will not be affected. The Knights Trail Landfill will be open, but not the administrative offices. The chemical collection centers at Bee Ridge Road, Jackson Road and Knights Trail Road will be open for regular hours.

The Arlington Park Recreation Center will be open from noon until 5 p.m., and the Payne Park Tennis Center will be open from 7:30a.m. until 9 p.m. The gun range at Knights Trail will be closed.
