Courtney Ilene Rowe Named to Clemson University President's List

CLEMSON, S.C.—Courtney Ilene Rowe of Sarasota has been named to the President's List at Clemson University for the fall 2012 semester.

Rowe is majoring in Chemical Engineering.

To be named to the President's List, a student must achieve a 4.0 GPA.

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—Gardner-Webb University announced that Rebecca Leigh Leap of Sarasota, an undecided major, made the Dean's List for the fall 2012 semester. The Dean's List honors those outstanding students who maintain a GPA (GPA) of 3.7 or above. This recognition is the semester's highest academic honor.

Truman Makes President's List At West Virginia Wesleyan College

BUCKHANNON, W.V.— Jessica Truman of Sarasota, has been named to the 2012 fall semester President's Academic Recognition list at West Virginia Wesleyan College. The President's Academic Recognition acknowledges academic excellence among Wesleyan's students. The criteria for inclusion on the list is 4.0 GPA with a minimum of 12 earned hours for the semester.

Heiser Named to Bryan College Dean's List

DAYTON, TENN.—Lynn Heiser of Sarasota, was among 169 undergraduates named to the Bryan College Dean's List for the fall 2012 semester.

Students earn Dean's List recognition by recording a grade average in the top 25 percent of grades by students in the traditional undergraduate program for that semester.

Lynn, daughter of David Heiser of Sarasota, was recognized for outstanding academic achievement.

Tharnish Named to Harding University Dean's List

SEARCY, ARK.—Sarasota resident Rachael Tharnish, a senior at Harding University, is among more than 1,000 University students included on the dean's list for grades achieved during the fall semester.

The dean's list is published each semester by Dr. Larry Long, university provost, honoring those who have achieved high scholarship. To be eligible, a student must be carrying 12 or more hours with a 3.65 or higher grade-point average and no incompletes.

Zehr Receives Scholarship at Clarkson University

POTSDAM, N.Y.—Christopher L. Zehr of Sarasota, a senior majoring in software engineering at Clarkson University, received the A. Douglas Burrow '31 Endowed Scholarship and the Sisson Family Endowed Scholarship during the 2012-2013 academic year.

Clarkson University is grateful to its many donors of endowed, sponsored, and Share Clarkson scholarships. Scholarship support is essential to providing students with the financial resources necessary to achieve their goal of a Clarkson education.

Pruett Received President's Recognition at Clearwater Christian College

CLEARWATER—Madeline Pruett of Sarasota, received a President's Recognition at Clearwater Christian College for scholastic achievement during the 2012 fall semester. In order to be recognized for this award, honorees must have been enrolled full-time and earn a minimum GPA of 3.90 on a 4.00 scale.

Madeline is a Senior Business major at CCC. She is a graduate of West Florida Christian School in Sarasota, and the daughter of Brian and Deborah Pruett of Sarasota.

Catherine Stone is a Member of Alpha Lambda Delta at Ashland University

ASHLAND, OHIO—Catherine Stone of Sarasota, is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta at Ashland University.

Stone is majoring in music education. She is the daughter of David and Jill Stone of Sarasota. Stone is a 2010 graduate of Riverview High School.

Alpha Lambda Delta honors students who in their first or first two semesters have achieved a 3.5 cumulative GPA. The honor society's purpose is to encourage superior academic achievement among students in their first year, to promote intelligent living, and to assist students in recognizing and developing meaningful goals.

Tellor Named to Dean's List at Southeast

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.—Matthew Tellor of Sarasota, has been named to the Dean's List for academic achievement during the fall 2012 session at Southeast Missouri State University.

Students named to the list earned at least a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale and completed at least 12 degree credit hours during the fall session.

Alioune B. Diagne Makes the Dean's List at Coastal Carolina University

CONWAY, S.C.—Alioune B. Diagne, an undeclared undergraduate major from Sarasota, was among approximately 1,800 students from Coastal Carolina University who made the Fall 2012 Dean's List. 

To qualify for the Dean's List, freshmen must earn a 3.25 GPA, and upperclassmen must earn a 3.5 GPA. To qualify for the President's List, students must earn a 4.0 GPA. All students must be enrolled full time.

Kara Kruk Named to Fall 2012 Dean's List at the University of Delaware

NEWARK, DEL.— Kara Kruk of Sarasota has been named to the University of Delaware's Dean's List for Fall 2012.

To meet eligibility requirements for the Dean's List, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.33 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.
