Education First a non profit 501(c) is bringing 110 teens ages 12 - 17 to Sarasota/ Bradenton area this July and August to learn about America and improve their English skills.
We need another 40 responsible families to host the students. Everyone is welcome to apply — couples, retirees, families, single parents.
The students from Spain and France will be here July 5-30. If the host family has a high school student they will earn 60 community service hours toward Bright Futures. These students don't attend school and spend 24/7 with their host families. They have one field trip a week with EF staff.
Chinese students will be here August 2-17. These kids go to school 8:30 - 5:30 Monday through Friday. So this is a great program for working families. Host family teens can earn 45 hours toward Bright Futures.
Host families are asked to provide the students three meals a day, a bed and transportation to EF events or school. We also ask you engage them in conversation and show them life in America.
If you have thought about hosting a student but don't want to commit to a year long program this is a good way to try it first. For more info or to apply call Madelyn or Sherree at 941 545 7300 or email Hstakid@aol.com
