Siesta Key Named One of Nation's Best, Again

The local favorite was applauded this time for its family-friendly amenities, in an article from National Geographic.

Siesta Key has made another "best beaches" list, just in time for the holiday weekend.

National Geographic named the local favorite one of its Top 10 U.S. Family Beaches in a report last week. Coast Guard Beach in Massachusetts led the list, and Siesta Key came in at No. 6 nationally.

In its report, the magazine cited kid-friendly amenities, beach activities, wildlife sightings and Siesta Key Village as reasons the beach made the list, specifically mentioning the , and .

Siesta Key also won local accolades last week on , ultimately coming in second to Fort De Soto beach for the 2012 title.

Funny how it made the top 10 here and Dr. Beach didn't even have it in the top 10. Siesta Chamber must not have been willing to pay Dr Beach enough. We all know that it is one of the best :)

We thought the same thing. Reading on his web site Once a beach makes #1 Dr. Beach removes it from the list.

its just a marketing ploy, they didn't tell you about all the arrests police hotspot
