RE/MAX Helps Launch Goodwill's Veterans Job Initiative

HIRING VETERANS ISN'T CHARITY. IT IS SMART ECONOMICS. Goodwill will launch a Veterans Program that will provide job training and employment services to thousands of veterans and their families.

Goodwill Industries Manasota, Inc., received seed money from the RE/MAX Alliance Group for its new "American Veterans and Their Families Initiative."

The program, which launches in January 2013, will help Goodwill Manasota expand its services to accommodate returning veterans facing heightened risks of unemployment, personal problems, and homelessness. As part of the initiative, Goodwill Manasota will add comprehensive case management and vocational services that address barriers to employment, disabilities, mental health issues, and also help veterans navigate the confusing array of available programs.

“Goodwill Manasota is grateful to Peter Crowley and the RE/MAX Alliance Group for being the first area-based company to help sponsor this initiative,” said Bob Rosinsky, president of Goodwill Manasota. “With their support, we'll create a seamless case management system that will support each veteran’s unique strengths and needs regarding housing, family, education and other challenges.”

Goodwill Industries is one of the first organizations to respond to the multitude of challenges faced by veterans, their families, and the families of those who serve on active duty. These programs and services are designed in response to the federal initiative, "Joining Forces: Taking Action to Serve America's Military Families."

“We're developing alliances with community partners to maximize resources and avoid duplication of services in order to help transition our veterans into employment aligned with their vocational goals," said Rosinsky. "The American Veterans and Their Families Initiative helps eliminate barriers to employment and will provide opportunities for higher paying positions for veterans and their families."

“Across the nation, RE/MAX offices have made a commitment to hire and mentor military spouses, veterans and transitioning personnel," said Peter Crowley, president of the RE/MAX Alliance Group. "In fact, for the fifth year in a row, RE/MAX has been honored as a Top Military Spouse Employer by Military Spouse magazine. I am proud to be a part of this Goodwill initiative that recognizes the commitment and sacrifice U.S. military families make each and every day and I encourage others to help Goodwill find employment for our veterans."
