Detectives say the shooter, Joshuat Lopez-Santana inadvertently killed his brother while shooting at an apartment to collect $300.
UPDATE April 9: A Brandeton man is dead after he was inadvertently shot in the back of the head by his brother on Easter while the two were shooting at an apartment in North Sarasota to collect a bad debt, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office. The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Joshuat Lopez-Santana, 19, of 1001 Temple Avenue, Bradenton, in connection with the double shooting in Sarasota on Sunday afternoon. Detectives say Lopez-Santana, along with his 17-year-old brother Carlos Lopez-Santana, drove to 3942 Butler Avenue to collect an alleged debt of $300, according to the probable cause affidavit. Witnesses say as the Lopez brothers got out of their vehicle they immediately began firing toward the apartment. …
