Alta Vista Elementary Students Create Mural For Chalk Festival

The mural, created using acrylic paint, will be displayed for the remainder of the festival, which runs through Tuesday. After the event the mural will travel to the North Sarasota Library as part of a student art exhibition.

Alta Vista Elementary School fourth-grade students teamed up with the Multicultural Health Institute, to create a Healthy Harvests Around the World mural for display at the Sarasota Chalk Festival. Multicultural Health Institute is a Sarasota-based non-profit organization. The mural, created using acrylic paint, will be displayed for the remainder of the festival, which runs through Tuesday. After the event the mural will travel to the North Sarasota Library as part of a student art exhibition. Dr. Lisa Merritt instructed the students in good health and nutrition. Alta Vista art teacher Cassandra Whitehead and local artists Todd Berrien and Eleanor Merritt worked with the students to develop a large mural integrating cultural diversity …

Burns Square continues to fill up with spectators for the  2012 Sarasota Chalk Festival. The Festival happens through Nov. 6 in  Burns Square where international artists will converge side-by-side with kids to chalk up the neighborhood. Drop by anytime, and you'll never know what or who you might see. One of the biggest draws will be Kurt Wenner, a Baltimore-based 3-D street painting artist known worldwide for his work.   More murals are on the way, too, as the "Going Vertical"  campaign will take over walls from 18 buildings around the city. For those looking to chill to the music, Chillounge will turn the streets of Burns Square into a comfortable area to sit on high-end patio furniture while enjoying a night out with friends listening …

I am trying to find the pictures that were taken by the professional people at some of the chalk art. I paid to have my picture taken walking across the tightrope and lost the sheet of paper they gave me to see my picture.
