A third suspect in a violent 2011 home invasion robbery has been captured, the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday. Carlos Longoria, 25, was apprehended at a Fort Myers home Tuesday and booked in Sarasota County Jail, where he was being held without bond, authorities said. The arrest was made in connection with a Nov. 1, 2011 incident at a home in the 2900 block of Clark Road, in which a man was hit in the head and choked until he was nearly unconscious, police said. A woman was pulled to the floor by her hair and had a gun held to her head. Three suspects ransacked the home before fleeing. Sarasota Police say they are not sure if the Saturday night incident at a Rilma Avenue home involving masked men is related to another home invasion that happened that night on 38th Street.
Police are investigating a home invasion robbery that occurred Saturday night at a Sarasota home. According to authorities, two masked men entered a home in the 3800 block of Rilma Avenue shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday carrying weapons. The men demanded money and other items from three victims inside the home, then left. One of the victims, a man, suffered a cut to the back of his head when he was hit by one of the suspects, police spokesperson Officer Linda J. DeNiro said in a media release. The other victims, a woman and man, were not injured. Sarasota Police are investigating a home invasion robbery in which two masked men robbed a group of people in a home recording studio early Saturday morning, officials said. Five people were in the back recording studio in a home in the 1200 block of 38th Street around 1 a.m. Saturday when the two suspects, wearing all black clothing and black masks, entered with weapons, according to a media release. The suspects demanded money and then left, police said. No one was injured. The suspects have not yet been identified, and the investigation is ongoing. Detectives say Brandon Albritton drove the other suspects to the victim's home with the intention of getting marijuana.
A 20-year-old man is now the fourth suspect arrested in a Saturday's Palm Terrace home invasion and robbery. The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested and charged Brandon Albritton, of no reported address, with one count of being a principle to a home invasion with a weapon. During the investigation of the Jan. 5 robbery, detectives received information from the other suspects the identity and involvement of Albritton, whose role the defendants said, was to drive them to the victim's house, Chad Strickland, to get marijuana, according to the probable cause affidavit. A 17-year-old Sarasota teen is facing an attempted murder charge for shooting a man in the leg during a Friday home invasion in south Sarasota. The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office has arrested Khalin Bryant, 17, in connection with the home invasion and shooting Friday night on the 3300 block of New England Street in Sarasota. Detectives determined that Bryant, of 1795 Gregg St., was one of two men that barged into the home and demanded money at gunpoint from two teens who were there. The incident started when a resident at the home talked to one of the suspects about hanging out at the house, but when they arrived, demanded money and pointed a gun at the victim. The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is searching for Ashley Nichole Clarke, 22, last known address 2347 Zito Ct., Sarasota, in connection with a home invasion robbery on Siesta Key late Monday night, according to the Sheriff's Office. Deputies responded to 5657 Midnight Pass Rd after the victim reported that a man wearing all black had entered his home and demanded money. As the suspect fled the scene he fired a shot toward the victim but the victim was not injured. The search for the gunman continues, the release said.
