Sarasota Truck Driver Injured In North Tampa Crash
Mitchel Thomas Grek of Sarasota was treated for minor injuries in a Friday afternoon crash on Interstate 275.
A Sarasota truck driver is being treated for minor injuries following a crash in north Tampa that blocked southbound Interstate 275 for more than an hour. Florida Highway Patrol responded to southbound I-275 north of Busch Boulevard for a crash at 3 p.m. involving a 2007 International tractor trailer and an unknown Ford truck. The tractor trailer driven by Mitchel Thomas Grek, 26 of Sarasota, traveled in the outside travel lane when a Ford pick-up suddenly changed lanes directly into the path of the tractor trailer, according to Highway Patrol. Grek attempted to avoid the crash and steered toward the outside shoulder, but over-corrected his steering and overturned, causing the semi to rest on its side blocking all southbound lanes, …
