The winter season art exhibition is underway at The New Deal Gallery located in the lobby of the Federal Building, 111 S. Orange Avenue. The free exhibit is part of a visual art program sponsored by the City of Sarasota which showcases work by local artists for three months. The winter exhibit features four local artists and runs through March. It is free and open to the public Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. An artist reception will be held Friday, January 18, 2013, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at “The New Deal Gallery”. Art is in season at the Federal Building where the autumn exhibit is underway at The New Deal Gallery. The free exhibit showcases local artists for three months, and is sponsored by the City of Sarasota. The exhibit runs through December and is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. An artist reception will be held Oct. 26 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the gallery, which is located inside the lobby of the Federal Building. Light refreshments will be served. Four times a year, local artists are selected to have their work displayed inside city-owned buildings as part of a public art program that began in 2011.
