Nurse Busted For Ordering 11,000 Oxycodone Via Fraud

Sarasota County Sheriff's investigators say that Evelyn Kay Weisnborn ordered more than 11,000 pills for herself, making her employer pay for them.

It turns out that a sick day can cost you. Evelyn Kay Weisenborn, a registered nurse at Premier Surgery Center, had been ordering 11,100 Oxycodone pills through the center's suppliers without her supervisor's knowledge, but when she was on sick leave and the packages came, the administration at the center grew suspicious, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office. Weisenborn, 59, of 4112 26th Ave. East, Bradenton, was out sick on July 11, and a package arrived at the office and employees there noticed it was for Oxycodone, according to the affidavit.
