Teacher Arrested on DUI in Manatee County
Pine View language arts teacher Thomas Krause was arrested by Manatee County Sheriff's Office Thursday night.
A teacher at Sarasota County's gifted and talented school is facing a DUI charge. Thomas J. Krause, 59, was arrested by Manatee County Sheriff's Office Thursday for driving under the influence, according to the sheriff's office. Krause, of 6500 15 St. E., Sarasota, was pulled over on the 6900-block of U.S. 31 travelling north after Deputy Georgian noticed Krause making several traffic infractions. A full report on Krause's arrest is not yet available, said Dave Bristow, spokesman for the Manatee County Sheriff's Office. Krause is a language arts teacher at Pine View School, said Scott Ferguson, spokesman for Sarasota County Schools. He has been with the school system since 1984, he said. He has to self report his criminal activity to the district if he does not he is terminated, he can be discharged upon conviction, he can be suspended with pay, that's what they like to do best. Remove them from work but still pay them more ›
