Presidents Day Closings in Sarasota

Here is a look at some of the holiday closings in Sarasota County for Presidents Day.

Most Sarasota County government offices will be closed Monday, Feb. 18   All Sarasota County libraries will be closed All Sarasota County recreation centers, with the exceptions of Payne Park Tennis Center (open 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.) and Arlington Park Recreation Center, (open noon-5 p.m.)   Chemical collection center at 8750 Bee Ridge Rd. is closed. Sarasota County Schools are closed. There will be no U.S. Postal Service delivery. Payne Park Tennis Center (open 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.) Arlington Park Recreation Center (open noon-5 p.m.) Sarasota County Area Transit (SCAT) will be on a normal bus schedule.   The collection schedule for solid waste, yard waste and recyclables for county residents will not be affected by the holiday and remains …

Is School Closed in Sarasota County on Presidents Day?

Students in Sarasota get the day off Monday, Feb. 18.

Public school students in Sarasota won't have to go to school Monday in honor of Presidents Day. Sarasota County Schools are closed for the celebration of George Washington's Birthday on Monday, Feb. 18. After that, the next time Sarasota public school students will have an official day off will be for the start of spring break, which lasts from March 11-15, according to the district's 2013 school calendar.
