5 Things To Know: Learn How to Prepare For Disasters

Sarasota County Emergency Management will present tonight how to prepare for natural disasters and how you can volunteer in recovery efforts.

1. Sarasota County Emergency Management Chief Ed McCrane will be the featured presenter at a community disaster orientation “Applying the Lessons Learned.” The free event takes place at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, at Imagine School in Palmer Ranch, 6220 McIntosh Road, Sarasota.  The program will include an overview of Sarasota County Emergency Management and a glimpse into this coming hurricane season by McCrane. There also will be presentations on the Sarasota Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) by the coalition’s Chair Stewart Sterns and “How You Can Get Involved” by Mindi Rohan, Executive Director of Volunteer Community Connection.
