Police Seek Thanksgiving Publix ATM Robber
A 69-year-old woman was robbed Thanksgiving Day in front of the North Trail Publix while withdrawing money at the ATM.
Sarasota Police Department released today surveillance photos from a Thanksgiving Day robbery at a Publix ATM in hopes the public could identify the suspect. A 69-year-old woman was using the ATM at the Publix, 1044 N. Tamiami Trail at 4:41 p.m. when a man approached her from behind and forcefully took her purse, according to Sarasota Police. The woman was so upset she didn't report the robbery until the following day, according to police. The suspect is described as a white, male, his age is estimated as late 30’s – to early 40’s, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, stocky build, with short brown hair.
