Corey Raia, is facing several sexual abuse charges against three girls, and had faced similar charges in Manatee County in 2009.
A 49-year-old Sarasota man is facing sexual battery and molestation charges against his 4-year-old daughter and a set of 7-year-old twins, according to a probable cause affidavit and court documents. This is not the first time Corey Raia, of 2915 Lexington St., Apt. 15, has faced these charges against children, according to court records. Raia was arrested and charged for the latest case by the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office on Nov. 13. On Nov. 4, one of the 7-year-old twin girls had told her mother that she and her sister were molested by Raia, according to the probable cause affidavit. A 24-year-old Sarasota man will spend his life behind bars after a jury found him guilty Thursday on six counts of sexual battery or a child. Jeffrey Hagen was arrested in March 2011 by the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office in March 2011 for repeatedly sexually abusing a 9-year-old girl. Hagen then confessed to the crime when he was arrested, according to the sheriff's office. According to the State Attorney’s Office, Hagen will receive a mandatory life sentence in prison without parole.

A fugitive deported to Mexico in July was caught in Sarasota Thursday afternoon, this time being wanted for molesting a 10-year-old girl last week. U.S. Marshals and the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit captured Eric Miranda-Lopez, 28, in the 1100 block of 40th St., Sarasota today. Miranda-Lopez is charged with lewd or lascivious molestation and is being held in the Sarasota County Jail without bond, according to the sheriff's office. Miranda-Lopez told investigators he re-entered the U.S. in September. I was molested when I was 9 (55 years ago) and it ruined my whole life. I never told anybody because of the threats he made against me and I was too young to understand.
