Sarasota Man Arrested on Child Porn Charges

Ryan E. Bartley, 42, of 2200 block of Pineview Circle, faces one count of federal distribution of child pornography and a federal count of child pornography after authorities say he was trading child porn over the internet.

Over the course of a week, detectives on a special task force conducted an undercover sting and received enough probable cause for a federal search warrant, according to a report. 

“The purpose of Child Exploitive Taskforce is to aggressively go out and seek people who commit crimes against children,” said 

Detective Megan Buck, Sarasota Police Department. “This taskforce is in place to protect our children from the predators on the Internet and the real world.”

The task force is made up of the Bradenton Police Department, Cape Coral Police Department, Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, Clewiston Police Department, Collier County Sheriff’s Office, Lee County Sheriff’s Office and the Sarasota Police Department, authorities said.
